ASU Golfer’s Rahm and Rottluff to Compete in Palmer Cup

TEMPE, Ariz.--- Arizona State will be represented at the 2015 Palmer Cup with their stand-out juniors, Jon Rahm of Spain and Max Rottluff of Germany.

Rahm and Rottluff will join the best college golfers in the world to get the chance to showcase their skills in the Palmer Cup, which features Team Europe versus Team USA in a Ryder Cup-style competition. Rahm and Rottluff have been the formidable one-two punch for the the Sun Devils all season long which has led to five team tournament titles in 2014-2015.

The Palmer Cup will take place June 12-14, at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. Rahm was a part of last year’s victorious European team but this will be Rottluff’s first appearance at the competition. The two golfers have been in solid form all season long for the Sun Devils. Rahm is currently the number one ranked amateur in the world, and is also leading the collegiate nation with a 68.63 scoring average. Rottluff is close behind in second place with a 69.03 scoring average. To Rahm’s credit, he has six career collegiate victories and finished in a tie for fifth at the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open in Scottsdale, Ariz., an event on the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, Rottluff has recorded nine Top 10's in 11 college tournaments this season, including two first-place finishes. ASU has been represented on Team USA by Jeff Quinney in 2001 and on Team Europe by Alejandro Canizares from 2003-2006, Stephan Goss in 2009, James Byrne and Jesper Kennegard in 2010.
